Hello fellow earthlings my name is Carlee Palermo and I am 21 years old from Boca Raton, Florida. I am a wild healthy eating, animal loving, adventurous person who loves meeting new people, and putting myself out there as much as I can to create a happy life worth living. I have always been extremely careful as to what I put into my body, and watching what I eat to the best of my ability. I am super passionate about veganism and the community that strives to make it better, and I hope that I can empower people to be more aware of how animal products not only harm your own body as well as protecting animals from a life of torture.
I grew up most of my life playing lacrosse. I went to high school at Boca High and had an amazing 4 years while I was there. I was accepted into FAU where I went for a couple semesters and then transferred to PBSC because I had no idea what I wanted to do. I changed my degree a handful of times but I am proud to inform everyone that I will be returning back to FAU in the fall to pursue a degree in neuroscience/ behavior.
Six years ago I was exposed to the truth behind the meat industry and all the torture and heartbreak that comes along with it. Two years ago I became vegan. For most of these years I would be called a “pushy” vegan and was tired of no one listening to me while I told them the truth behind the scenes. So instead of preaching to people about stuff they didn’t care to listen to I created this website, hoping to only attract the people who wanted to change their life for the better.
Two months ago my life was flipped upside down. My mom was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer (glioblastoma). As many of you know that is why I am going to finish school in that field and then hopefully be accepted into medical school after. My drive for wanting to do this is pretty much ironic because I do not believe in standard medicine at all. For a whole 2 months now I have had to listen to doctors tell my mom what to do, and keep my mouth shut. I had to listen to them tell her that “the best option to beat brain cancer” is to shove her body full of chemicals. I sat there for 6 weeks and watched my mother fall apart. Most days too weak to even get out of bed. I had to listen to her say “I don’t know how the hell I am going to make it through these 6 more weeks of chemo and radiation.” I finally couldn’t take it anymore and tried to get her on medical marijuana, because there are people out there living 20+ years, and they refused standard of care and just went with THC. I tried pushing veganism on her multiple times, because research shows that a plant based diet number one fights free radicals and number two reduces your chance of getting cancer. No one listened to me so thats why I am here on this site now, to give interested people help and knowledge about the benefits of this diet.
I am always here willing to talk to anyone, wether it be about personal matters or diet matters. I hope that what I put up on this website will give you the recipes you need to become a healthy vibrant vegan.
