When you first start off wanting to change your diet for the better and become a full time vegan you can go one of two ways, you can either cut cold turkey and jump right into it (which is what I did) or you can take it step by step which is what most people do by cutting out food items in moderation.
The step by step method works like this, if you eat every type of meat you first really want to cut out red meat, and then slowly cut out chicken, pork, turkey and then last fish. To move into the harder part which is becoming dairy and egg free, you want to replace all dairy with a vegan alternative such as almond or coconut substitutes, which are my favorites. After that you start to slowly cut out eggs, such as scrambled eggs for example, and then move to removing foods that contain eggs, such as cake. The last thing you would remove from your diet is going to be cheese, this is by far the most difficult. What most people do when trying to stop cheese intake is they pick 4 days out of the week to eat cheese, and slowly start decreasing the days of consumption until you remove cheese completely.
I am going to be quite honest with you, vegan cheese sucks!! Every vegan will try to tell you they found a good brand but I’ve tried every one and they all taste like straight up dodo. For me, when I became vegan I had no cravings at all. You will get to the point where any dairy legit just grosses you out to the point where you don’t even want to touch it.
The easiest way to become vegan completely is to educate yourself. Watch as many youtube and vegan documentaries as you can. I can almost promise you that you will be turned off by the idea of consuming dairy ever again. And thats what I did. The documentary that made me go vegetarian was “Cowspiracy”, the documentary that helped me go vegan was “What the Health”. I will link them down below for you however both documentaries should be on Netflix.
